Neymar's father has revealed the Brazil star could remain with Santos beyond Junemango win, after he scored his first goal since returning to his boyhood club on Sunday. (More Football News)

Neymar rejoined Santos – who he left for Barcelona in 2013 – in January, having terminated his contract with Saudi Pro League champions Al-Hilal.

The 33-year-old won and scored a penalty as Santos beat Agua Santa in the Sao Paulo State Championship on Sunday, then celebrated by kissing the club's badge.

Writing on Instagram after the game, Neymar said: "Important win, well done team, let's go SANTOS."

Speaking to TNT Brasil after the match, Neymar Sr. revealed his son was open to extending the initial five-month deal he has signed with Santos, saying: "Our project is not just for five months, it is a contract that we are considering renewing. 

"We didn't come here to compete for five months, it was to give Santos the opportunity to restructure itself, to find partners for the club to rebuild itself."

Asked about those comments from his father, Neymar himself said: "Let's take it easy. It's a contract we made not just between the two of us. 

"One is helping the other. Santos opened the doors for me to reacquaint myself with football, with my joy. 

"I didn't sign a long contract because I didn't know how I was going to get back, how I was going to feel in those months. Anything can happen."

Neymar has played four games since returning to Santos, with his 85 minutes played on Sunday making it his longest appearance yet.

The youngster displayed goalkeeping masterclass in the shoot-out, saving all four of Pakistan’s attempts after the match was drawn 1-1 in regulation time.

Defending champions India will now face off against China, who beat Pakistan in the first semi-final.

His goal was his first in Santos colours since April 17mango win, 2013, when he netted in a 2-0 win over Flamengo.
