The BCCI Selection Committee led by Ajit Agarkar is set to announce the India squad for the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy 2025 on Saturday and the availability of India's pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah is still not confirmed yet. (More Cricket News)acegame888

According to media reports, Bumrah could make it to the India squad subject to him being fit in time for the tournament that begins on February 19. Bumrah's injury that prevented him from bowling in the second inning of the Sydney Test in Australia is yet to be known.

Although the initial round of tests did not indicate a stress fracture in his back, it is believed that the discomfort Bumrah experienced was linked to his heavy workload during the five Tests in Australia.

Bumrah bowled 151.2 overs across nine innings,ph222 claiming 32 wickets at an average of 13.06 in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

Based on medical advice, the BCCI decided to give Bumrah a rest of at least five weeks following the conclusion of the Sydney Test on January 5. After this period, he will undergo another scan to assess whether he can return to play.

If Bumrah is cleared of injury, his match fitness is expected to be evaluated in the final ODI of the home series against England on February 12. The deadline for submitting the final Champions Trophy squad to the ICC is February 11.

At this point, it is anticipated that Bumrah will be included in India's 15-man squad for the Champions Trophy, which will be announced on Saturday. However, there will be an asterisk sign next to his name, indicating that his inclusion is contingent upon his fitness.
